Balsam Edge is an affordable, multifamily community situated on a 5-acre site on Howell Mill Road in Waynesville, NC. The development sits within a highly walkable, amenity-rich corridor, just a quarter mile from a grocery store and several restaurants. The site also offers strong regional access, located within a mile of eastbound and westbound entry ramps to U.S. Route 74, which connects to I-40.
This project marks a significant milestone as MHO’s first rental investment in Haywood County, reflecting the organization’s ongoing commitment to expanding affordable housing in communities where the need is most urgent. Balsam Edge will offer 84 apartments across 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom floor plans, serving renters earning between 40% and 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
Construction is expected to be complete by April 2027.
