Let the Mountain Housing Opportunities team help you get there! Since 1994, our Community Rental Investments Program has allowed us to develop 1,421 rental apartments across 40 properties, providing opportunities for families to strengthen future generations.
Each apartment developed by MHO is safe, attractive, energy-efficient, and affordable. These apartments can be rented by individuals and families in the workforce, retirees, people with disabilities, and those who have been formerly homeless. Read through the requirements below to see if you qualify for an apartment community. Then, reach out to our leasing partner to learn more about applying.
General Requirements for New Apartment Tenants
- Must provide an acceptable criminal background check
- Must have a credit score of at least 640, but this may be flexible depending on the situation
- Households must earn less than 80% of the area’s median income
MHO owns and is responsible for building each of our apartments, but we do not manage or lease these properties once they’re ready for move-in. That’s what we employ Partnership Property Management to do. If you’re interested in renting an apartment, please contact PPM at 828-575-2323. PPM charges a $25 application fee. Applicants who pay this fee at an MHO property may apply to other MHO properties within 90 days at no additional cost.
