Ramp Up! Eaton Corporation

Samuel is 68 years old and lives in Candler in a mobile home. He had a hip replacement and is currently being treated for throat cancer, which requires him to have a feeding tube. After several falls in his home, he has also needed rehab to help him recuperate. Even though there was an eight-foot ramp attached to Samuel’s home, it was too steep and poorly constructed. His only option was to use the steep ramp with a shaky handrail to get to the bottom of his landing. Samuel knew he couldn’t get better on his own and contacted MHO for help.

With your donations, a new and better ramp has been built to give Samuel safe access in and out of his home.

On June 7 & 8th, in conjunction with Neighborworks Week, volunteers from the Eaton Corporation built a new ramp for Samuel. Sponsorships and donations like yours are used year-round to offset the cost of building materials for the ramps, which can cost up to $5,000.

You can continue to help MHO create safe access to our friends’ and neighbors’ homes by going to our Donations Page or our Paypal link and make a tax-deductible donation today. You can also mail a check to MHO, 64 Clingman Avenue, Suite 101, Asheville, NC 28801. Thank you for your support!
