Eagle Market Place

Eagle Market Place is a landmark mixed-use development at the corner of Eagle and South Market Streets in the heart of downtown Asheville. The project renovated three historic buildings and constructed one new building, resulting in 62 affordable apartments and 7,500 square feet of commercial and retail space. Developed with Eagle Market Streets Development Corporation (EMSDC) and shaped by extensive community engagement, it honors the legacy of “The Block” — Asheville’s historic African American business district. Residents enjoy exceptional walkability, with shops, restaurants, and a bus stop just one block away. Eagle Market Place was built by MHO and WeaverCooke Construction, with funding from Bellwether Enterprise, the City of Asheville, Buncombe County, CAHEC, and NCHFA.
